Have you ever wondered if there is any unique way to hide your files? Did you ever want your hidden files to blend in with the rest?Did you ever remotely considered if you could Hide Files Inside an Image?
It will seem rather weird , but you can hide your files inside an image. You may think it as a rather impossible task but , it is vey much possible. The process itself is called Steganography , where we bind a file with an actual image. Steganography is the practice of concealing a file, message, image, or video within another file, message, image, or video .For this , we look at few and easy steps .
To get things started you have to have WinRar or WinZip installed in your computer. You can easily get those applications for free in the internet. Download WinRar , install it into your C Drive . Now , lets get started.
First you take the files(you want to hide) and the picture(you want to hide those files into) into a separate folder. As seen below , we have three files and a jpg image in “test” folder of our D Drive.
Select the files (you want to hide) , right mouse click and SELECT “add to archive”. A box pops up. Write in the name of the new archive file , let us name it as “test.zip” , SELECT ‘ZIP’ option of the Archive format.
Note: We can save as RAR too.
A new zip file , “test.zip” has been added into your folder. It contains your archived files.
Now , Click on Start, and then click on Run. Type in “CMD” without the quotes and press Enter. You should now see the command prompt window open. Type in “CD ” to get to the root directory. Select the drive where you have the folder (Note necessary if it is in C: )Then type CD and the directory name that you created, i.e. “CD test”.
Type in following codes : copy /b aa.jpg+test.zip bb.jpg
Note: “aa.jpg” is the name of the original picture, ”bb.jpg” is the final copied image.(You can enter the final saved image as your original image name too , which overwrites the original image).Press ENTER!
You see a new image file as “bb.jpg” , which looks similar to your original image, but it has files binded to it.To open the zip file , simply rename the image to “bb.zip” , hit OK.After doing your thing , rename it to “bb.jpg”.
The process is finally over. Hope you liked this trick to Hide Files Inside an Image.Enjoy!!
